Florida Villas – A Packing Guide
If you’re staying in one of the many Florida villas for rent this year, don’t forget your toothbrush!
Packing your life, let alone the lives of the rest of your family into a relatively tiny suitcase or two can be as challenging as the Krypton Factor. Even if you’ve rented one of the fabulous Florida villas for two weeks - so you know you’ll have all your home comforts at hand - there’s always something that is crucially important that you manage to leave at home. And no doubt you’ll remember it 30,000 feet in the air when you’re half way to one of those luxury Florida villas and kick yourself.
Even if you’re staying in one of the Florida villas that has everything from washing machines to satellite TV and broadband (and of course the kitchen sink) you might still find our packing guide below useful.
Florida Villas – Stay Safe
It’s always hard to know what to do with those items that you know if you lost or had stolen, the whole holiday would turn into turmoil. If you’re renting Florida villas you should find a secure place (ideally a safe, or somewhere you can lock) to store your passport, tickets and jewellery. If you are driving, don’t leave valuables on the car seat even if it’s parked outside secure Florida villas – keep your valuables in the boot of the car out of sight and locked away. Always keep your vehicle locked.
Florida Villas are Definitely Cool
Most Florida villas have air conditioning but if you want to make the most of the theme parks you’ll need to leave the comfort of your villa behind. It can get hot and humid in south Florida with occasional tropical weather. Make sure you pack;
- Light fabrics - keep to natural fibres like cotton that are breathable.
- Wear light colours that reflect sunlight which will help keep you cool.
- Sundresses, shorts, t-shirts, beach and swim wear are all vital.
- Chances are you’ll be outdoors checking out the alligators or wildlife at some point, pack sun block and get a high factor.
- Don’t forget to protect your eyes – make sure you pack sunglasses with UV protection
- A hat is always advisable if you’re walking around the theme parks to stop your nose looking like it belongs in a Disney cartoon.
- Mosquitoes and bugs can make your life a misery no matter how luxurious Florida villas are – if you have air con, you can keep the windows shut but wear repellent when you’re out and about.
- Antibiotic cream is always useful especially if you have children who are prone to running into scrapes.
- Pack a cagoule or poncho for those random rain showers while you’re queuing for some mega theme park ride.
And finally, don’t forget your memory cards to take plenty of photos with; you’ll want to show off the luxurious Florida villas to the neighbours when you get home!
