Florida Villas – Don’t Forget the Camera
If you are renting out one of the Florida villas in the Disney area, there are things you can do to ensure your stay runs smoothly.
Packing for a family holiday is never easy, especially if you have young children. It seems there is always something you forget. If you are staying in one of the Florida villas in Orlando and plan a holiday based around the theme parks, then take a look at our checklist.
- Remember the camera
It sounds obvious, but you’ll be kicking yourself if you forget it. You’ll want to show your friends and relatives what your luxury Florida villa looked like, and junior’s face turning green on the Incredible Hulk roller coaster. This is a trip of a lifetime and you’ll want to look back at mementos. If you leave your camera behind either at home, or in your Florida villa or hotel room, or run out of film or batteries, don’t panic – you can buy cameras, film and batteries in the theme parks.
- Bring water and sunscreen and check the weather forecast.
If you are renting out one of the Florida villas in Orlando you should have a good supply of sunscreen for you and your family for when you’re lounging around your pool. But remember, just because you are not sunbathing doesn’t mean you don’t need protection - walking around a theme park all day in the Florida sun can be dangerous. Ensure you drink plenty of liquids during your visit.
- e-mail
Some Florida villas have their own internet access, but if not it is still a good idea to bring your e-mail address list. You can email your friends and family pictures and video clips from Mission: Space and from Imageworks at the Imagination Pavilion.
- Height restrictions
If you are staying in one of the Florida villas in Orlando it is a good idea to take a tape measure with you. Before you set off for the theme parks, measure up your children so you know in advance what rides they can and can’t go on. All height restrictions are listed on the homepages of the theme park websites so you can avoid any tears in advance!
- Get orientated
If you gather together maps of all the theme parks and sit down together before you leave your Florida villa, it’s a chance to get orientated and work out where you want to go, and how you can get there easily. Become familiar with the locations of the attractions you are most interested in.
- FASTPASS
There is a Disney FASTPASS service available, you slip your Park Pass into the FASTPASS machine to receive assigned times for the ride you want to go on, enjoy the park while FASTPASS saves your place in the queue.
