Staying in Florida villas

If this is the first time you’ve stayed in a Florida villa or if you come back every year to rent out one of the Florida villas available in the Disney area, how much do you know about Disney?

Iconic Disney

Children all over the world recognise the most iconic of Disney symbols – the Cinderella Castle at the centre of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It’s more than a theme park - Disney promises magic and enchantment, and is the main attraction for the thousands of tourists who come to Florida and stay in hotels, resorts and Florida villas every year.

Florida is ‘It’

Disney World is the most famous recreational resort in the world and although there are resorts now in Paris, it is Florida that tourists love to visit and consider to be the home of Disney. Renting Florida villas in the Disney area is now a major tourism industry and since the theme parks beginnings in 1967 it has attracted families from all over the world.

Florida villas, resort and hotels

Walt Disney died before the resort was constructed. It opened on October 1, 1971 as the Magic Kingdom and has since evolved and expanded to include Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Staying in one of the Florida villas for rent in the Disney area is one of the best ways to make the most of all the theme parks and attractions on offer in Florida. Thanks to Disney, the market for hotels and Florida villas for rent is massive, and tourism is the biggest industry in the State. As well as the four theme parks, the Disney resort also has two water parks, six golf courses, a sports complex, a car race track, 20 resort hotels and shopping and dining galore. It has its own transport system, police and fire department. In fact, it is in its own right a fantasy City.

Walt Disney history

Walt Disney looked for a resort to complement Disneyland, which he opened in California in 1955. He flew over to Orlando in Florida in 1963 and immediately fell in love with the site. The reason he chose it was said to be the transport and freeway routes that meant it would be easy to access. He focused all his attention on the ‘Florida Project’ but died on December 15, 1966, five years before his vision was realized. It’s hard to think what he would have thought of the major tourist industry that Disney World has spawned – thousands upon thousands flock to Florida to rent out Florida villas, stay in resorts and hotels and dedicate their holidays to Disney.
